Prizes!

We had some awesome prizes donated in 2008. And we’re sure to have a bunch more in 2009.

How do you get one of these fabulous prizes? Just participate! Every now and then we’ll ask you to participate in a survey and tell you specifically what the prize is, but other times we’ll just randomly choose someone who has made a comment and email you to say, “Guess what? You’ve won a pair of o-so-cozy socks!”

If you are interested in making a donation, we’d love to hear from you!
Thank you!

I have just found this wonderful place!!
I’ve joined Facebook and was just exploring this site. Imagine my surprise to see you offer prizes whenever the mood strikes. What a wonderful way to keep us all motivated to participate. ~Beth

WOW Lisa! These prizes are FANTASTIC!

What a fun lineup of gifts! Thank you Lisa, InvisibleIllness.com and all those who are donating gifts!

What wonderful gifts. Thank you to all who have donated gifts and time. I have just found Restministries and this website and am soaking it all in!

Our local TV station did an Interview with me and my co facilitatior and is airing it this weekend on their segment Minute by Minute. It is all about our local Hopekeepers group! They included pctures of the HopeKeepers mag. and other pamplets that Restminitries prints.

Lisa,

Thank you so much for putting all of this together. I wish I had a way to help.

Thanks

Wow lots of great prizes. Nice to have the word of invisible illness out so loud.

I FIND THAT PEOPLE WHO DO NOT WALK IN YOUR MOCASSINS, WHO LACK COMPASSION, EMPATHY ARE THE ONES WE NEED TO FEEL SORY FOR FIRST AND FOREMOST. BUT YOU, YOU ALL HAVE AN IMPUT, YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE A VICTIM TO OUR DISEASE. THEIR ARE ORGANIZATIONS IN YOUR VICINITY THAT OFFER MONTHLY OR SO NEWSWORTHY INPUT. JOIN A GROUP. VOLUNTEER ON THE CFS/FIBRO HOT LINE. VOLUNTEER FOR WOMEN IN CRISIS. YOU NEED TO GET YOUR MIND OFF OF HOW YOU FEEL. I CANNOT BEGIN TO TELL YOU HOW MANY TIMES I WANTED TO DO MY SELF IN FOR SELF PITY. AND YEAH I COULN’T GET OUT OF BED, OR GET DRESSES, OR THE MEDS DO NOT WORK, ON AND ON. BUT PURE BEING PISSED OFF ON WHAT WAS HAPPENING TO ME AND IT IS NOT FAIR, ON AND ON AND ON. ALL MY PRAYERS, ALL MY POSITIVE THINKING, ALL MY SELF PITY
THEIR IS SO MUCH, BUT THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN CHANGE IT IS YOU AND THE GRACE OF GOD.
YOU CAN DO IT. ONE STEP AT A TIME. ONE PHONE CALL AT A TIME. ONE KIND WORD AT A TIME. YOU CAN DO. I KNOW, CAUSE I AM DOING IT. I TRIED 4 TIMES TO KILL MYSELF,
AND I DIDN’T DO IT. I THOUGHT OF HOW SELFISH IT WOULD BE TO DO THAT AND THE REPURCUSSIONS OF LEAVING THOSE THAT LOVE ME BEHIND. I KNOW SOME OF YOU FEEL YOU HAVE NO ONE. THAT IS NOT TRUE. WE HAVE SOMEONE. GOD IS ONE OF THEM. EMAIL ME.
I LOVE YOU,I AM PROUD OF YOU, YOU MADE THE FIRST STEP TO MAKE CONTACT. HOW GREAT IS THAT. RAVEN

wow, i am impressed, especially with those socks

I thank GOD for all the encouraging words & all the things you do for those of us who are suffering from so many different illnesses that you can’t always physically see. But WE know/feel that they are real & they are there.

Once again Lisa… YOU have outdone yourself in spreading the word to help all of us that live with chronic pains. God bless you in all that you do!

Hi Lisa thank you so much for all you do

Thank you for being an encouragement to me when times get really tough. Your articles are uplifting and the daily blogs are very relatable. I appreciate the time that everyone there has put into making my seemingly small world (due to the chronic unrelenting pain I’m always in) a little brighter place. Also, I love your new logo. It’s so bright and cheery! The one with the roller coasters reminded me too much of the different moods I would get into!!! Love and blessings to you all and thanks again ~ Kimberly

Awesome prizes and I love the awareness Invisible Illness Week is bringing
God Bless
Michelle~

Thanks to all the donors! How nice :)

Wow Lisa! I love all you have done to educate others on Invisible Chronic Illness Awareness. And the fun that you have brought to it puts a positive, hopeful spin on it. I love the vibrant logo, and the message that it sends, that I just had to get a coffee cup of my own! Also, I think it’s great that you have gotten donations from so many people. It’s wonderful! Keep on going along with your ministry even on the days when you have bad flare days. You are in my prayers.Bless you, and all that you do, and are continuing to do. Oh, great prizes too! Blessings! Missy

Thank you for making all this possible. I’m sorry there are so many with invisable illnesses, but thankful you have found ways to bring us together. You are all doing a wonderful job. Lisa, Thank you SO MUCH for all your hard work with this. I thank God for you! May God use this week to help those of us who struggle with chronic illness to be better servants of the King by being encouraged, lifted up, inspired, and challenged to do and/or be whatever He so desires!

How awesome. what wonderful gifts!

Can’t wait for tomorrow (Mon. Sept. 8,2008) when the sessions start! I hope to attend as many as possible. What great guests you have lined up, Lisa! Thanks for all your hard work in getting all this together. The topics for the sessions all sound so helpful, and the prizes are exceptional…. many thanks to the donors. I am so thankful for how God has helped Rest Ministries grow to this extent……just in the 5 or so years in which I have known about it. Bless you, Lisa for going the extra mile, even when I know you really need to be in bed, or with your family. I pray for you so often! How blessed we all are to have this wonderful web site and so many friends to turn to who truly understands all of us who suffer with chronic illnesses – especially the “invisible” ones which those close to us sometimes think we are faking. God bless the coming week, and all who will be a part. Alice

Wow! Lots of neat prizes!

Thank you so much for having this conference! I cannot travel that easily, not to mention there is no way we could afford to make a trip!! I am very excited to participate in the different lectures and learn different ways to help both my family and myself live a better and more active life! You all are wonerful for coming up with this idea.

Great prizes! This is going to be a wonderful II Week…great speakers, information and usable tools and support! Thanks Lisa!

Obviously lots of hard work has gone into making things happen for this awareness week!! It’s amazing how much information is available, how many valuable perspectives are out there, and how much hope and positive energy people who are so ill are somehow able to summon. It’s clear that many, many hours have gone into planning this week’s events! Oh… and the the prizes are great! :)

Just found this site from someone’s post on LiveJournal. Bookmarked; will be returning. (Chronic daily intractable migraines, CFS, fibro, peripheral neuropathy, chronic bronchitis – and strangers give me static for having and using a disabled license plate. *grr*)

I am SO thankful for this conference and for all of the wonderful prize donations!

Congratulations, Lisa, on a great lineup of guest speakers and prizes for this year’s NICIA Week. You really do have something for everyone. Many thanks to you and all who donated prizes.

Prizes? How do you sign up for prizes? I am registered, but don’t see the little box it says will come for use on my desktop and the prizes do look wonderful, so I would like to sign up of course :-)

Thanks!
Shep

Thank you for all who donated the wonderful prizes. “Fibromyalgia may knock me down, but God lifts me up!”

How wonderful! Thanks for getting all this together–it must have been so much work!

So happy you were able to reschedule Maureen Pratt (smile) Favorites so far have been Jenni Prokopy, Leslie Vernick, Trish & Jeff– who am I kidding, everyone’s been great! Thanks, Lisa, for another great group of speakers!!

*please check out my latest post about the conference, I would love some feedback!! Thanks!!

Well, it’s been a day and a half! I’ve had two back surgeries and now have Fibromyalgia on top of it. I had an EMG yesterday and am still feeling the effects of it today. My feet and legs seem to jump around all day long; feels very wierd. Had to take our 6 year old to school (she became ours when she was just 3) and then pick her up from school and go shopping for my youngests birthday. She’ll be 20 on thursday… I cried for most of the day, she moved to Alaska last month (from Idaho) and she’s my best friend. I just have had a really hard time making it without her. My oldest is in the Army in New York right now and he is deploying again next month: second time around… I just feel so alone right now, I cannot believe the pain. I don’t know what is worse, from the illnesses or from my heart. It’s definitely a toss up.

One of the things that really bugs me is the way people look at me when I’m in the stores. I’m 44 but I’ve been told I look 30, anyway the way people stare is just amazing. I am walking this kinda sway walk that I do ’cause I hurt and I’m stiff and they look at me like I am mentally ill or something. Then they look at my six year old like I don’t deserve to have her. I just don’t understand people any more. They are so rude and are trying to be so non-chalant about it, but it is so obvious. I really feel sorry for the people that have to put up with the looks that aren’t dealing with a silent illness?

Then I come home and make dinner and my husband IS a kind man, but some days he just doesn’t get it. I’m exhausted, I’m hurting (inside and out) and maybe I just need a hug instead of another ‘buck-up’ speach…

Thanks for listening, just had to vent and cry some more. 8)

i wish national invisible illness week was two weeks!

Lisa, Last week was wonderful, but we had hurricane evacuees show up on Thursday, and it’s gone downhill from there! I noticed you had a Houston winner, might want to check with them, for mailing instructions to assure they are at home?

Thanks so much for the wonderful week. I will listen to archives when my guests “deport” from the Echtle hotel! LOL

Lisa, praying for you as your recoup from NICIAW and prepare for your surgery. {hugs}

I suffer from C.R.P.S formerly known as R.S.D. my whole life was taken. my job, hobbies, school, activities. some days the pain is so debilitating that I have to have help to the bathroom or to eat or take my meds. sometimes I go a couple days at a lower level of pain and find myself thinking I can do things again I can get my job back, etc. but then the inevitable follows – the severe pain caused by the littleest of things. ehere are the support groups? this site is the closest to hope at finding support I’ve come since the beginning of this change in my life 2 years ago. thank you for the hope. thank you for your dedication to helping others. thank you

Thank You Lisa and all the sponsors and others for giving
us a place to always come in our time of need God Bless You all and all that are here
BevinFL

Just found this via a blog…some of the topics look very interesting/helpful to me.

Lisa, You brighten my day on the dreariest of times! Thank you for encouraging us as Paul! You are a BLESSING!
