About Invisible Illness Week
National Invisible Chronic Illness Awareness Week is held annually in September and is a worldwide effort to bring together people who live with invisible chronic illness and those who love them.
We are in the process of planning 4 telephone seminars Sept 8-12 (M-F) where you can call in and listen and talk to the presenter.
We will soon be announcing our special guests and more!
If you are a church wanting additional materials to educate people about chronic illness, be sure to click here for tracts, brochures, etc. as well.

I think it is a wonderful idea to bring people together. This is a way to make us feel like we are not alone. I am a psychologist, and I see many patients that feel no one will ever understand. It is very important that people have a connection with others. This is a great idea.
I am liz over at migrainecommunity at blogspot and I hope you all are having a pain free day!

Thank you for being here!
I never knew that what I had actually was named. ‘Invisible illness’… it says it all!
I am now going to dive in and learn as much as I can about this site during my ‘couch time’, which I have been having more often than not lately.
Love and prayers to you all that have taken the time!
Sincerely,
Letta

Hello,
My name is Justin Guild and I’m a graduate research assistant currently working with Dr. Jeong-Nam Kim (http://www.cla.purdue.edu/communication/people/jnkim.shtml) at Purdue University on a health communication study.
Specifically, our research explores how information sharing behavior through online communities influences coping strategies among people with chronic conditions including cancer, diabetes, lupus, etc.
I’m contacting you to seek permission to place a link to our online web survey on your blog to invite readers and other visitors to participate. The survey is purely academic in nature and takes no longer than 5-7 minutes to complete.
The web survey can be found by clicking on this link: http://www.createsurvey.com/c/70237-Os3LDl/
In the survey, we use the term “blog” to refer to any online activity where you might read or share information in communities such as personal web logs, internet forums, and discussion boards.
The findings of this study could lead to better management capacities of chronic diseases as well as an increase in funding for research related to online communities.
If you have any questions, or would like additional information, please don’t hesitate to contact me at jguild@purdue.edu.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Justin Guild
