Got Illness? Got Music? Listen Up!

musicWe recently discovered Christian artist Natalie Grant has a new single out called “Our Hope Endures.” And it’s about someone with an illness! Well, Hope Endures happens to be the name of our new radio podcast – and I named it over two years ago. Ironic, huh? Or a God-thing.

You can even write to Natalie personally on her blog and let her know what the song means to you.

So I put together a playlist with this song and 20 others that will encourage you and give you something to listen to when you are browsing around the internet. Click here for the playlist on our Hope Endures web site.

Last year we asked you what songs you liked to listen to that perked you up when your illness was getting you down.  Thanks for your suggestions! We searched for many of them and some did in fact end up in our playlist.

If you think of more, leave your comments below and we’ll put together another playlist in honor of Invisible Illness Week 2009.

Lisa

What a beautiful song, and so fitting. It is amazing God gave Ms Grant the title for this song “Our Hope Endures” now, for a radio podcast that He gave you the title
“Hope Endures” over 2 years ago. It just shows how much God is in control of our lives even when we don’t realize it.

Love the playlist. #3 is backward though. The group is Casting Crowns and the song is Praise you in the Storm.

What a beautiful song portraying much of what our lives are like living with chronic pains. Thank you Lisa for yet another great find. God works in mysterious ways doesn’t he. I know that your podcast name and this song are meant to be and a definite “God thing”. Blessing to you.

Lisa, when I first heard this song, it touched my heart. I was deeply moved by the beauty and emotion it conveyed, both in the lyrics and in Natalie’s voice. Like so many of my brothers and sisters here, I could immediately relate. And I thought to myself, “How could the title of this song be the same as that of the Rest Ministries’ radio podcast?” I agree with you and others- this must be a “God Thing!”

Thank You, Father, for Your wonderous ways and for the gifts You have bestowed and works You are doing through these two wonderful ladies. Amen.
