How the Seminars Will Work – Instructions for Invisible Illness Week

Is it time for a seminar that you want to attend? Here is the schedule!

We recommend printing it out and circling the ones you absolutely don’t want to miss. These you may even want to call into the show with questions! The rest you can listen to later online or even download them from itunes to your MP3 player or ipod. (If that thought scares you, just ignore it.)

  1. Okay, so before the first show starts you want to make sure your computer is working and all ready to go.
  2. Your computer must have the Windows Media Player Windows Media Player or other compatible audio player. You can download the latest version at the Windows Media Download Site. There is a version of Windows Media Player for Mac users as well. Mac users can also download “Flip4Mac” for the QuickTime player.
  3. The easiest way to find out is just head over to Blog Talk Radio and listen to any show that is archived.
  4. So everything is working now, right? About 5-10 minutes before your show, go to the web site here and make sure your speakers are turned up.
  5. Look for the blue box for the time that your program is at. It looks like this…
  6. We think the program starts automatically (we’re testing this tonight). If for some reason it doesn’t start, click the little arrow. [we'll update this after we test it]. You can also “share it” with a friend. See the little icons on the blue box?
  7. To subscribe to all the shows at that time (like all the 5:30 programs) you can click on the RSS. To share it with others click share. If you click on the profile button it takes you to the Blog Talk Radio area where our show is hosted and will be archived. That’s kind of cool because you can see links to Amazon for the book the authors have written. You can also see what ther shows are coming up and actually sign up to get an email reminder before the programs.
  8. Want to call in? I (Lisa) will say something like, “We’d love to hear from some of our listeners… Go ahead and call in with some questions.” It’s a long-distance call to New York, USA. We will be able to accept 3 callers at one time, so if you call in you may be put on hold until we get to your call.
  9. We will try to answer them all, but if we can’t feel free to email us your question later. We’ll be scheduling guests for Rest Ministries’ Hope Endures Radio Podcasts and will be inviting many of our guests back!

Lastly, I am looking for a few people who have used Blog Talk Radio as a listener who may be able to help me field questions that come in about troubleshooting while I am on the air. If you would like to volunteer, please email me ASAP. Thanks!

Hi Lisa, Just wanted to let you know I did listen to you and Christine today. I tried a couple or three times to call in, and you even said “there is a caller from the ’such and such’ area code, but when you tried to get to me, my phone was cut off. I could still hear you on the computer. (it was very easy to access, by the way) But, it also said I needed to “log in” and/or “register” in order to call in. I thought I was registered – I had filled out the “register” page several days ago. As to “logging in” it said I had the wrong password. I wasn’t even aware that I had given a password at any time. Can someone out there help me? Thanks.
