Update Your Signature File with II Info

Posted on August 6, 2008. Filed under: Online Ways to Help | Tags: , , |

An easy way to help us spread the word is just by updating your email signature file for the next month. Below are some examples, but you are welcome to write whatever you like!

Most of us have a footer or signature file at the end of our email somewhere. Use it to help us promote National Invisible Chronic Illness Awareness Week!

You may even want to email your family and friends and let them know that they can help support you by adding it to their emails for a few weeks. With with about 5000 of you sending 10 emails per day out, just imagine how many people would be notified about the week!

Putting Together Our List of Seminar Leaders

Posted on August 6, 2008. Filed under: Today’s News, Annoucements & More | Tags: , , |

This is the first year we will be having our seminars on the telephone, rather than the chat room, so we are excited to work with some of those amazing experts who were a bit leery about the technology of chatrooms in previous years.

We’re accepting submissions from experts that can provide a 30-minute presentation and take 30 minutes of questions from guests. Seminars should focus on an aspect of living with illness. Some areas we are looking to cover include:

  • How it impacts marriages and families
  • Kids with chronic illness
  • Talking to your doctor so s/he will listen
  • Should you keep working?
  • Illness in your 20s or 30s
  • Parenting with an illness
  • Illness and faith
  • Creative ideas for your support group
  • How to start an illness ministry
  • Applying for disability successfully
  • and more!

If you have a topc you would like to present, click here. Guest will be chosen in the next couple of weeks and announced afterwards.
